Obaje; M.A. SalubuyiIn today's digital age, the competency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an essential skill for employees in various industries. The National library, being a crucial source of knowledge and information, requires its staff to possess a high level of ICT competency to fulfill their job responsibilities effectively. This paper examined the relationship between ICT competency and job performance of National library staff. The relationship between ICT competency and job performance of National library staff has been widely studied and is of great interest in the field of academic research. In this conceptual review, the paper provided an in-depth analysis of the various factors that contribute to the success of National library staff in their job performance, with a special focus on the role of ICT competency. Through a comprehensive literature review, this paper identified key areas where ICT competency plays a crucial role in enhancing job performance as well as skills required by librarians for effective job performance include database management skills, networking skills, cloud computing skills, social media/virtual reference services skills, web design skills, open access resource management skills and meta data skills. Overall, this conceptual review provided valuable insights into the relationship between ICT competency and job performance, serving as a useful resource for both researchers and practitioners in the field. The review also highlighted the major problems hindering librarians’ ICT competency and job Performance of staff in national library.
